New Hope United Methodist Church, in partnership with Foundations Learning Centers, is providing before and after school care, beginning with the fall 2012 school year. Beginning as early as 6am, and going until as late as 6pm, New Hope will be a safe place to wait for the bus in the morning and work on homework in the afternoon. Rates are reasonable. Transportation will be provided to/from Petsworth Elementary School (Gloucester). Additional nearby schools may be able to be added in the near future, depending on need.
If Interested, please contact the New Hope site director at flc@newhopevaumc.org, or Foundations Learning Centers at foundationsglova@cox.net or 804-815-1259. Space is limited.
We worship on Sundays at 11:00am, with Sunday School classes for all ages at 9:45am.
Our worship style would be considered traditional, with responsive liturgies, dynamic hymns, powerful Scripture, and dynamic preaching.
The worship team keeps just enough surprise that you don't want to miss a Sunday!
Our 8:00pm Wednesday night Bible Study is beginning a new study called "A Party Called Faith," which focuses on 5 of the smaller, lesser attended to, books of the Old Testament. Our group always has room for more, and we'd be happy for you to join us.
If you have a particular Bible book, topic, or event you would like to know more about for a future study, please E-mail biblestudy@newhopevaumc.org so that Pastor Brian can prepare a study to address your request. We'd love for you to join us in the New Year!
Join us Sunday mornings at 9:45 for Sunday School. We have classes for children, youth, and adults. The children's classes begin an exiting new curriculum "Grow, Proclaim, Serve!" in September, incorporating Bible stories, crafts, videos, and games into a full faith experience. The youth are using "BL4Y," tackling contemporary youth issues with a Biblical understanding. One adult class is studing the "International Lesson Series," relating world issues with Biblical understanding. Out other adult class is is looking more in depth at selected Scripture lessons for each Sunday, gathering new insights on the preached text of the day. Any class will be happy to have new members at any time!
